John Omilana Site Redesign

John Omilana is a boutique store for spiritual enlightenment. Omilana offers spiritual products, like candles, oils, and incense, as well as one on one readings and spiritual cleansing. The goal of the project was to completely redesign the current branding, logo, packaging, and website.

Branding

Logo

  • One of my biggest goals was to design a logo for the brand. The client wanted something modern and clean, but also deeply inspired by nature and spiritualism. The style guide followed that same list of goals and inspirations

Design Approach

Information Architecture

  • The old site’s information architecture was not user-friendly. I assessed the old site and defined areas where I could consolidate information, delete unnecessary information, and streamline the look and feel to meet current design, web, and assessability standards

Illustrations

  • The old site used stock photos that felt generic. I suggested using more streamlined icons and custom illustrations that would support a more cohesive and unique brand identity

Wireframing

  • Using Figma, I drafted a few website ideas for stakeholder review

The Approved Design

  • A finalized design approach was approved for both mobile and desktop

Results

I designed a logo that was selected by John. Then, I worked on creating website wireframes and brand identity guidelines. I iterated on my designs based on client feedback and created several clickable prototypes for stakeholder feedback. A final design was selected and implemented on the live website and online shop.
